Peace•6 minutes
Held in the Storm
The presence of a storm does not mean the absence of Christ.
Mark 4:35–41The disciples knew how to handle boats, yet this storm exceeded their experience. Fear often rises when our familiar skills stop giving us control.
Jesus’ presence did not prevent the storm, but it changed what the storm could ultimately do. The story invites us to bring honest fear to Christ while learning that his authority reaches beyond our ability to manage circumstances.
Peace may begin before the wind changes. It begins as trust is redirected from our control to the One who is present.
Reflect
Where are you interpreting difficulty as evidence that God is absent?
A prayer for today
“Jesus, meet me in what I cannot control and teach my heart to trust your presence.”
